Motordrome started right here in Hastings. In the early 70s, Basil Le Prou opened a small tyre service and retread plant in town, which grew into one of the largest independent tyre companies in NZ with eight tyre centres and three retreading factories across the lower North Island.

In 1991, Basil's family bought the Hastings operation back and it's been in the family ever since. This is the flagship. The original site, the original team, and three generations of the same Hawke's Bay family at the helm. Locally owned, locally accountable, and not going anywhere.
